Assam Rifles Recruitment

Assam Rifles special recruitment rally for Compassionate Ground Appointment will be held at Shillong, (Meghalaya), NRS- Guwahati from 26 May 2018 onwards for enrollment of 213 (male/female candidates) in the following trades

Eligibility

Only one Next of Kins (NOKs)/dependents of Assam Rifles personnel who were Killed In Action, Died While In Service, Discharged From Service On Medical Grounds And Missing While On Service Are Eligible To Apply For Compassionate Ground Appointment.

Height :
Male : 170 ems,
Female: 157 ems

Weight : For males and females proportionate to height and age as per medical standards

Chest : (only for male candidates)
Un Expanded : 80 ems,
Expanded: Minimum expansion 5 ems

Vacancy Details

Applicability

Dependent family members of following categories of Assam Rifles personnel are eligible to apply for Compassionate Ground Appointment :
Priority 1 : Is killed in action (Martyred).
Priority 2 : Dies while in service (including death by suicide).

Priority 3 : Is retired on medical grounds under Rule 2 of the CCS (Medical Examination) Rules 1957 or the corresponding provision in the Central Civil Service Regulations before attaining the age of 55 years (57 years for erstwhile Group ‘D’ Govt servants).

Priority 4 : Is retired on medical grounds under Rule 38 of the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 “Invalid pension may be granted if a Govt servant retires from the service on account of any bodily or mentally infirmity which permanently incapacitates him for the service ” or the corresponding provision in the Central Civil Service Regulations before attaining the age of 55 years (57 years for erstwhile Group ‘D’ Govt servants).

Priority 5 : Is medically boarded out and is unfit for civil employment.
Priority 6 : Missing Assam Rifles Personnel While on Service. Cases of missing Assam Rifles personnel are also covered under the scheme

Dependent Family Members

The following constitute Dependent Family Members :
(a) Spouse, or
(b) Married/unmarried Son (including adopted son), or

(c) Daughter (including adopted daughter),or
(d) Brother or sister in the case of unmarried Govt employee who was wholly dependent on him at the time of death in harness or retirement on medical grounds, as the case may be.

Instruction

** Cut Off Date for Reckoning of Age Limit. Cutoff date for calculation of upper age limit will be 01 Jan 2018 for fresh applications.
** Applicants who have already submitted their application to this Directorate need not to apply again and if found genuine CALL LETTER will be issued accordingly.

** However, such candidates should ensure that all documents as mentioned in the application will be produced by the candidates on reporting to the react rally site.
** Physically Handicapped Are Not Eligible

** Pay scale and other allowance will be as admissible to Assam Rifles Personnel.

** Candidate must carry their AADHAR Card which may be authenticated biometrically at the rally site, failing which; the candidate will not be screened for recruitment.

Physical Attributes

The following relaxation in physical attributes are applicable to the eligible candidates under “Compassionate Ground Appointment scheme”.
(a) Height – 7.5 ems
(b) Weight – Maximum possible
(C)Chest – 06 ems unexpanded & 05 ems expended

Selection of candidates will be Provisional even after passing successive stages of screening for recruitment till completion of all the pre-enrolment validation and verification.

Medical

** Successful candidates in Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test, Documentation, Biometric and Trade Test (Skill Test) will undergo medical examination on the same or next day at the Rect Rally site.
** Decision of medical fitness by Assam Rifles Medical authority is final and binding.

Physical Efficiency Test

The physical efficiency test (PET) will be conducted for all trades including General Duty, Technical. Tradesmen , Clerk & Personal Assistant as under :
(a) For Male Candidates : 05 Km run to qualify within 24 minutes.
(b) For Female Candidates : 1.6 Km run to qualify within 8.30 minutes.

Educational Qualification :
** Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from recognized Board/University or equivalent.
** Skill Test Norms on Computer.
** English typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute on computer.

** Hindi typing with minimum speed of 30 words per minute on computer (35 w.p.m in English and 30 w.p.m in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each work on computer.

Age Limit : 18-40 yrs

Personal Assistant

Initial Rank-Warrant Officer
Educational Qualification :
a) Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from recognized Board/University or equivalent.

(b) Skill Test Norms on Computer :
(i) Dictation : 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute.
(ii) Transcription Time : 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.
Age Limit : 18-40 yrs

Radio Mechanic
