Primary School Teacher Recruitment

Applications are invited from the eligible Indian Citizens who are Natives / Residents of Union Territory of Puducherry for the post of PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER on regular basis in Karaikal and Mahe regions. The filled in application should reach the Director, Directorate of School Education, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Centenary Educational Complex, 100 Feet Road, Anna Nagar, Puducherry – 605 005 before 5.00 P.M. on 27.11.2023.

Eligibility Conditions of Primary School Teacher

Educational And Professional Qualifications:
i. A pass in Higher Secondary school or its equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate; and

ii. Diploma in Teacher Education or certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training of duration of not less than two years offered by the institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. The minimum academic qualification for admission to the Diploma in Teacher Education or Certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training should be Higher Secondary or its equivalent; and

iii. Should have studied the particular regional regional language (Tamil/Malayalam) as one of the subjects up to secondary level or studied Diploma in Teacher Education certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training in the relevant medium of regional language.

iv. Should have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I of TNTET/KTET/APTET/CTET as prescribed below:-

Age Limit :
The applicants shall be between 18 and 32 years of age as on 20.11.2023 which is the last date for submission of online application. Age limit is relaxable for MBC, OBC, EBC, BCM, BT, SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disability, Ex-servicemen (XSM) & Commissioned Officers, Disabled Defence service personnel, Widows/ Divorced Women / Women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not re-married and In-service applicant.

Mode of Recruitment for Primary School Teacher

There shall be 100 marks for selection by giving weightage to the marks secured in the Academic Qualification and to the Employment Exchange Registration Seniority as detailed below :
i. 70% Weightage for HSC and Diploma in Teacher Education.
ii. 20% Weightage for marks secured in Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-I(CTET/ TNTET/KTET/APTET) and
iii. 10% weightage for Employment Exchange Seniority of Teacher Eligibility Test [TET Paper-I].

NOTE:
i) To arrive at percentage (%) of aggregate marks of essential qualifications, for every additional attempt five percentage (5%) of marks will be deducted except in Teacher Eligibility Test(TET).

ii) Even if the if the candidate completed the required essential qualifications within the stipulated period of the course but made additional attempt(s) 5 % of marks will be deducted for every additional attempt(s).

iii) In the case of certificates having grading only where no marks. are available, the mid-value will be taken into account to arrive the percentage of marks after which deduction shall be made for additional attempts if any, as aforesaid.

iv) In the case of certificates having points to the maximum of ten, the points may be converted to hundred to arrive the marks after which deduction shall be made for additional attempts if any, as aforesaid.

v) Weightage shall be given to the seniority in Employment Exchange Registration at the rate of 1 mark for every completed year of registration in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The maximum marks shall be 10 at the rate of 1 mark per year for ten years to be counted backwards from the last date for receipt of application.

While computing the marks, the seniority should be reckoned from the date of registration of Teacher Eligibility Test(TET) Paper-I. There will be no marks for periods less than a year. Further, the candidates who made registration in the Employment Exchange but not renewed on the due date will not be awarded additional marks for seniority.

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria as mentioned above may apply online only through the official website http://recruitment.py.gov.in from 10.00 A.M on 21.10.2023 to 05.45 P.M on 20.11.2023.

The print out of online submitted Application Form should be submitted to

along with the self-attested Photostat copies of the following certificates / documents, as applicable, in person or by “Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due” duly superscribing on the cover as “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER” so as to reach the same on or before 05.00 P.M on 27.11.2023, failing which the online submitted application will be summarily rejected.
