RRB Technician Recruitment

Recruitment of Technician Grade-l Signal and various categories of Technician Grade-III. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts mentioned in the table below. Candidates must go through the requirements of educational qualification, age, medical standards etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the post. Applications complete in all respects must be submitted ONLINE ONLY latest by 23.59 hours of 08.04.2024.

Eligibility of Technician

Eligibility of the candidates will be provisional based on details furnished by the candidates in the ONLINE application. The RRB will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for the eligibility, therefore, candidature will be accepted only provisionally subject to fulfilling basic eligibility criteria as required.

Educational Qualification
:
Technician Grade I Signal :
A) Bachelor of Science In Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology/ Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute
(OR)
B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute
(OR)
B) Three years Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams
(OR)
Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of above basic streams”

Technician Grade III :
Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of applicable posts.
(OR)
Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned posts.

Medical Fitness: Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the prescribed medical standards for the post(s) they are opting for. Candidates who are found medically unsuitable for the opted post(s) shall not be given any alternative appointment.

Age (as on 01.07.2024):
a) 18-36 years for Technician Gr I Signal and
b) 18-33 years for Technician Gr III posts

Examination Fee of Technician

Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their community/category detailed below:

Out of this fee of Rs 500/-, an amount of Rs 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in CBT. Rs 500/-

2 For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC). (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS) Rs 250/-
This fee of Rs 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT.

NOTE:
1) The applicable Examination Fee is also required to be paid separately for each Pay Level.
2) Only candidates who attend CBT will get a refund of their examination fee as mentioned above.

Modes Of Fee Payment:
a) ONLINE fee payment only through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through ONLINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode.
c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and will be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.

Refund Of Examination Fee (for those attending CBT):
(a) All candidates must clearly mention the bank details (Name of Bank, Name of Account Holder, Account Number and IFSC Code) for receiving the refundable portion of their examination fee (i.e., Rs. 400/- or Rs.250/- as applicable minus bank charges) in their application form.

(b) The responsibility for furnishing correct bank account details lies on the candidates and RRB shall not entertain any correspondence from candidates on this ground.
(c) There will be no refund of examination fee for erroneous, incomplete or rejected applications.

Recruitment Process of Technician

(a) Candidates should apply only through ONLINE mode through any of the official websites of the RRBs. Candidates can apply to only one RRB for a pay level and only one common ONLINE application should be submitted by a candidate in a pay level. The selection of RRB once exercised shall be final. Application to more than one RRB for the same pay level by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications for that Pay Level.

(b) The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
(i) Computer Based Test
(ii) Document Verification (DV) and
(iii) Medical Examination (ME)

(c) Information on examination schedule and venues will be given to eligible candidates in due course through RRB websites, SMS and email.
(d) Request for postponement of any of the stages or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.

How To Apply for Technician?

(a) Candidates must read all the information and instructions carefully before filling the ONLINE application to prevent mistakes.

(b) Candidates must first ‘Create an account’ for this CEN through the link given in the official RRB websites at para 14 (f) below. They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later.

If a candidate has already Created an Account for CEN No 01/2024, they should use same account credentials to log in and apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No. 02/2024) as well.

(c) Each candidate is allowed to apply to only one RRB for a specific pay level, and only one common ONLINE application should be submitted by a candidate for any or all of the notified posts, in the order of preference in that pay level, for which the candidate is eligible and interested to apply.

Applications should be submitted only through any of the official RRB websites listed in Para 14 (f) below. A separate application must be submitted for each Pay Level, as a separate CBT will be conducted for each Pay Level. The applicable Examination Fee is also required to be paid separately for each Pay Level.

Once the application is submitted, the RRB selected shall be final for that pay level. Applying to more than one RRB for the same Pay Level by a candidate will result in the rejection of all applications for that Pay Level and debarment

Note:
Candidate having multiple educational qualifications that make him eligible to apply for Pay Levels 2 and Pay Level 5 (for e.g. ITI in the relevant trade and also any one of the prescribed qualifications for Technician Gr I Signal) must submit separate applications for each Pay Level i.e., one application for Technician Gr III and another application for Technician GrI Signal.

(d) Scribe for PwBD Candidates:
Indicate option for scribe if you are a PwBD candidate and eligible for scribe. Only the candidates suffering from Visually Impairment (VI) or the candidates whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy/muscular dystrophy/candidates with Locomotor disability (one arm)/Intellectual disability (Autism, specific learning disability and mental illness) are eligible for availing scribe against this CEN.

In case you have firmed up the scribe, then enter the details of scribe such as name, father’s name, educational qualification etc. The scribe so arranged should not himself/herself be the candidate for the notification for which the candidate is appearing and same scribe should not be engaged for more than one candidate.

ONLINE Mandatory Scanned Documents to be kept ready before filling the application:
(i) Recent, clear colour passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the candidate in JPEG image (size 30 to 70KB)-without wearing dark glasses and/or cap.
Note: Candidates must have at least 12 (twelve) copies of the same photograph for future use during the recruitment process.

(ii) Scanned JPEG image of candidate’s signature in running handwriting (size 30 to 70KB)
(iii) SC/ST Certificate (only for candidates requesting free pass for train travel) in pdf format (upto 500KB).
(iv) PwBD candidates should also upload passport size photograph as per above specifications only (and not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate).

(v) Scribe (Applicable to eligible PwBD Candidates only):
Provide details of Scribe duly uploading his/her passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the scribe in JPEG image (size 30 to 70KB) – without wearing dark glasses and/or cap.

Furnishing of information of Scribe is mandatory. Change of Scribe at the exam venue is generally not permitted. However, under exceptional circumstances the change may be allowed duly recording reasons and filling the relevant details including photograph of the Scribe.
