Meghalaya Police Sub Inspector, Constable Recruitment

Online Applications are invited through Meghalaya Police Website megpolice.gov.in from eligible candidates who are Indian Citizens to fill up the under mentioned categories of vacancies in the Meghalaya Police. Application must be submitted online through the Meghalaya Police website. No other forms of application will be entertained. Online Application forms will be made available with effect from 1st April, 2024 onwards.

Fee

The Application fee for each post shall be Rs. 150/- (Rupees One hundred and fifty) which should be paid through the payment gateway which will be indicated accordingly. Eligibility

The following shall be the eligibility criteria for recruitment to various posts in table below:
1. Indian Citizens are eligible to apply.
2. Candidate should be in the prescribed age indicated below as on 01.01.2024. Upper age relaxation of 5 (five) years can be availed by candidates belonging to ST/OST/SC.

UB SI (Male & Female)
Age : 21-27 years
Educational Qualification : Bachelors Degree in any stream from a recognized University.

Unarmed Branch Constable / Fireman / Driver Fireman/ MPRO Operator / Signal Operator/ Firmen Mechanic/ Mechanic
Age : 18 to 21 years
Educational Qualification : 10+2 (passed) (Twelve)

Armed Branch Constable / Battalion Constable/ Driver Constable/ Handyman Constable.
Age : 18 to 21 years
Educational Qualification : Class IX (passed) (Nine)
Note: Candidates applying for posts of Driver Fireman/ Driver Constable are required to possess HMV/ LMV driving license.

Documents To Be Submitted

The following documents should be produced by the candidates at the time of PET for vetting and submit self attested copies of the same at the time of Personal Interview.
a. 1 (one) recent passport size photograph (at the time of Personal Interview).
b. I.D proof – ADHAR Card/ EPIC/ Driving License/ PAN Card etc.
c. S.T/S.C./O.S.T Certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the respective Districts of Meghalaya.
d. Age certificate as per HSLC/SSLC Certificates/ Admit Cards or equivalent certificate testifying the date of birth/age.
e. Certificate for the highest Educational Qualification only.
f. Additional qualification, if any.
g. No Objection Certificate for Government employee.
h. Photo copies of Certificate to support claim of Bonus Marks should also be produced at the time of PET and as and when asked for.

Scheme of Written Examination

Only those candidates who have come within the qualifying zone (20 times of the vacancy in the respective category) will be given an Admit Card which can be downloaded from the Meghalaya Police Website. Only those candidates will be allowed to appear at the Written Examination which will be conducted at the time, venue and date to be notified by the Central Recruitment Board. The dates and venues shall be published in local Newspapers and put up on the departmental website.

Written examination for UBSI posts – shall comprise of 3 papers comprising of (i) General English including PrĂ©cis Writing, Essay Writing, Drafting and English Grammar (Matriculation standard) of 150 Marks, (ii) Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Basic Science of 50 Marks and (iii) General Knowledge of 100 marks. Total = 300 marks to be completed in 3 hours.

Written examination for UB Group – shall comprise of 3 papers comprising of (i) English Grammar and Usage, (ii) Arithmetic / Elementary Science and (iii) General Knowledge. Each paper shall carry 100 marks. Total = 300 marks to be completed in 90 minutes.

Written examination for AB Group – shall consist of one paper only, comprising of Elementary and Basic Knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic and Basic General Awareness. This paper will be of multiple choice / OMR based. Total = 150 marks to be completed in 60 minutes.

For the Written examination in all the posts, a few questions will be set in the regional languages i.e; Khasi and Garo, such questions shall not exceed 5% of the total marks allotted for written examination.

General Instructions

(i) Helpline numbers for any clarification will be notified through the Meghalaya Police website megpolice.gov.in.
(ii) The candidates are advised to go to the facilitation centres which will be set up in all the District Headquarters if they have any issues in connection with the online application process.
(iii) No T.A./D.A. will be admissible to candidates for the journey and stay during any stage of the recruitment.
(iv) The select lists confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied on the suitability of the candidate after a thorough medical examination and such enquiry and verification as may be considered necessary before appointment to the posts. Candidates have to appear in all the stages of recruitment. If a candidate is absent from any stage/ event his/her candidature will be cancelled.
(v) The ST/ SC/OST candidates who have taken relaxation in term of age and height cannot claim candidature under Open category.
(vi) The candidates can be disqualified at any stage of the recruitment process.
(vii) There shall be no appeal against disqualification.
(viii) The candidates are advised not to change the mobile number until the recruitment process is over.
(ix) The candidates are advised to retain their Admit Card with them and keep it properly since it will be required to be produced at a later stage.
(x) The candidates will be summarily rejected at any stages of recruitment process for not conforming to the official format/ having incomplete information/ wrong information/ incomplete submission of certificate / misrepresentation of facts/ impersonation and necessary legal actions will be initiated in such cases as applicable.
