The Jammu Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has received an Indent from Home Department for filling up vacancies under direct recruitment. JKSSB invites online application forms from eligible candidates for participating in the selection process for the aforementioned posts. Age Limit of Constable
The requirement of age for applying against these posts, as on 01.01.2024 for Open Merit & various Reserved Categories Candidates, shall be as under:
(i) OM – 18 to 28
(ii) SC – 18 to 28
(iii) ST-1 – 18 to 28
(iv) ST-2 – 18 to 28
(v) RBA – 18 to 28
(vi) ALC/IB – 18 to 28
(vii) Other Backward Classes(OBCs) – 18 to 28
(viii) EWS (Economically Weaker Section) – 18 to 28
(ix) In-Service Police Personnel – 18 to 30
(x) Government Service/Contractual Employment – 18 to 28
(xi) SPOS and Volunteer Home Guards (VHGs) – 18 to 40
Qualification Required for Constable
a) As per the Indent received from the Indenting Department and relevant recruitment rules, the qualification prescribed for the advertised posts is shown in Annexure-A to this Notification.
b) The candidates who are declared qualified by the Board for Document Verification will be required to produce relevant Certificates in original as proof of having acquired the prescribed educational qualification on or before the cut-off date fixed for filling online application forms, failing which the candidature of such candidates shall be cancelled by the Board.
c) Candidates may note that their candidature/admission in examination will remain provisional till the genuineness of their documents relating to educational qualification is verified by the Appointing Authority.
d) Incase of candidates claiming possession of equivalent educational qualification (where it is applicable/required), it shall be mandatory to produce relevant Equivalence certificate or seek equivalence from the concerned competent authorities as and when required by the Board. However, final decision regarding selection of such candidates will be taken by the Board, in light of relevant rules which shall be binding.
e) Any candidate having his/her qualification other than as prescribed, shall not be eligible for posts advertised in this notification and such candidature will be summarily rejected.

For SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS Candidates : Rs. 600/-
Payment Mode : Through Online (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card)
Procedure For Filling Online Application of Constable
The necessary instructions regarding filling up of online applications, including the details of Online Portal in this regard shall be made available on the Board website separately. Candidates will be required to fill the application form in online mode only and no other means/mode of application will be accepted.
