Rajasthan High Court District Judge Recruitment

On-line Applications are invited in the prescribed online format from the eligible Advocates for direct recruitment in the Cadre of District Judge, 2024, for the vacant posts in accordance with the provisions of Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010 in pay scale of Rs. 144840-194660 (Pay Matrix J-5). Last Date for submission of Application is 09th August 2024.

Eligibility of District Judge

A candidate for direct recruitment to the service:
(i) must be a Citizen of India;
(ii) must hold a degree of Bachelor of Laws (Professional) of any University established by Law in India and recognized as such under the Advocates Act, 1961;
(iii) must have been an Advocate for a period of not less than seven years on the last date fixed for receipt of online application i.e 09.08.2024; and
(iv) must possesses a thorough knowledge of Hindi Written in Devnagri Script and Rajasthani Dialects and Social Customs of Rajasthan.

Age :
A candidate for direct recruitment to the cadre of District Judge must have attained the age of 35 years and must not have attained the age of 45 years on the first day of January (01.01.2025) following the last date fixed for receipt of the online applications, provided that:-
(i) the upper age limit mentioned above shall be relaxed by 5 years in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (NCL), More Backward Classes (NCL), Economically Weaker Sections and Women Candidates.
Note : the above relaxation in age will be admissible only in one category.

(ii) the upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years in case of the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Such age relaxation shall be in addition to the age relaxation already provided to different categories in Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010.

Note:- In the last Notification issued in 2021, for direct recruitment to the Cadre of District Judge, the age was calculated on the basis of 01.01.2022. For this recruitment, age is being calculated on the basis of 01.01.2025. Therefore, the candidates, who would have been eligible in respect of his/her age as on 01.01.2023 & 01.01.2024, are also entitled to apply for the post, if otherwise eligible.

Process To Apply Online for District Judge

** Prior to filling in on-line application for the examination, candidates are advised to read carefully & thoroughly the ‘Rules’, detailed Notification and instructions issued for filling on-line application, available on the official web-site of Rajasthan High Court (hcraj.nic.in) and ensure that they fulfill all the requirements of eligibility as per the ‘Rules’.

** If any of the candidate is found ineligible or his/her ineligibility is detected at any later stage, his/her candidature shall liable to be rejected.
** Candidates must furnish all the relevant information required in the on-line application. Furnishing of false and/or incomplete information shall lead to rejection of application for which the candidate will be solely responsible.

Important Instructions to Apply:
1. Candidate is directed to apply under the category only to which he/she belongs. The category filled in the application form shall not be changed under any circumstances.

2. Before applying online, the candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills all the conditions of eligibility as per the conditions mentioned in the Notification and relevant rules and all the informations required in the online application form has been filled correctly and completely in the relevant columns.

The admission to the examination shall be provisional considering the information given in the online application form as correct, only. The candidate himself shall be responsible for the information given in the online application form.

3. The online applications submitted till the last date shall be accepted. In case all the entries are not complete and correct, the application shall be rejected by Rajasthan High Court.
4. After finally submitting the online application, no changes shall be made in the entries of the online application nor will any application in this regard be accepted for consideration.

5. Candidates are directed to upload their recent colour passport size photograph. Apart this, the applicant shall upload any one of his/her photo identity proof i.e. Voter ID, PAN Card, ID card issued by the Bar Council concerned, Driving License, Passport and Aadhar Card. The same photo identity proof shall have to be carried with at the time of Preliminary 09.07.2024

Examination Fee of District Judge

** General/Other Backward Classes- CL/ More Backward Classes-CL/ Candidates of other States – Rs.1500/-
** OBC-NCL/MBC-NCL/EWS Candidates of Rajasthan State – Rs.1250/-
** SC & ST Candidates of Rajasthan State/PwBD – Rs.1000/-

Note:- No claim for refund of the examination fee shall be entertained nor shall the fee be held in reserve for any other examination unless the candidate is not admitted to the examination by the court.

Scheme of Examination for District Judge

1) The scheme of competitive examination for direct recruitment to the cadre of District Judge shall be as prescribed in Rule 40 read with Schedule-VII of the “Rules”.
2) There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers in Preliminary Examination.
3) The Preliminary Examination shall be conducted on OMR Answer Sheets.
4) To qualify for Main Examination, the candidates of SC/ST/PwBD category shall have to secure minimum 40% marks and candidates of all other categories shall have to secure minimum 45% marks in the Preliminary Examination.
5) The Committee constituted by the Chief Justice shall scrutinize the applications of the 09/07/2024 applicants who are qualified for main examination and shall satisfy itself before granting of certificate in case that the application has been made strictly in accordance with the provisions of Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010 and the decision as to the eligibility or otherwise of the candidates for admission in the Main Examination shall be final. No candidate shall be admitted to the Main Examination unless he holds a certificate of admission granted by the person authorized by the Chief Justice.
6) After interview, a merit list of the candidates (category wise) shall be prepared on the basis of their aggregate marks obtained in Main Examination and Interview considering the suitability in general.
