BSEH Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test
To ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana and affiliated by the Board of School Education, Haryana is that he/she should pass the “Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test”.

Eligibility of Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test
All individuals who possess minimum educational qualifications etc. as delineated in the service rules relating to the teachers of all the three levels (available on the website of the School Education Department, Haryana (www.schooleducationharyana.gov.in) and also in these guidelines are eligible for the test (HTET) which will be conducted for the following three levels :-
i) who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.
ii) who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT – Trained Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.
iii) who intends to be a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.
However, a person who intends to be a teacher for levels (i) and (ii) mentioned here above (i.e. Teacher for classes I to V and VI to VIII) and fulfils minimum qualifications for both levels will have to apply On-line for both separately. Similarly, if a person who also intends to be a lecturer and fulfils minimum qualifications, he/she will also have to apply On-line separately. Candidates are advised to follow the instructions as given on the website for submitting “On-line Application” for more than one levels.
Minimum Educational Qualifications of HTET
Level-I- For becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Teacher (PRT)
1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007 notified on 31 August, 2009.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and Passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
2. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

1 What is/are the Qualification(s) for applying for HTET?

2 Am I eligible for HTET as per my acquired qualification?
You may check your acquired qualifications with those as delineated in the HTET-2023 Information Bulletin for the level and category of teachers concerned and be sured himself/herself before applying. The information Bulletin is available on bseh.org.in
3 After qualifying the HTET am I eligible for getting the Job?
Qualifying HTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
4 If I qualify HTET, will HTET unit or BSEH provide me a Job?
BSEH is an Examination conducting body only. Providing job/employment does not fall under its jurisdiction
5 What are the number of attempts a candidate can avail for HTET?
There is no cap on number of attempts for appearing in HTET
6 What is the validity period of HTET certificate?
The validity period of HTET certificates will be seven years from the issuance date of certificate for all levels.
7 Can I apply for HTET again if I had already qualified the HTET before?
Yes.
8 Can I appear in Paper- I or Paper-II or Paper-III in different cycles?
Yes.
9 I made a mistake in my Name/Father Name/Mother Name/Correspondence Address/Category/Change in city of exam centre/Photo /Sign. What should I do now?
You can do online correction. The time period for online correction will be announced along with schedule of examination in information bulletin.
Therefore, candidates should read the Information Bulletin carefully, during online correction period a candidate logging i n t o the HTET portal via the office website can make corrections. No change will be accepted through offline mode i.e. through fax/application or by email etc. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Please note that no request for any change in particulars is to be accepted under any circumstances after the specified date for online correction is over. After correction a revised confirmation page printout should be taken.
10 How can we get HTET Certificate?
Those appearing candidates who get passed will be awarded a certificate by the board; separately for each level/s appeared and passed to be dispatched to their registered correspondence address.
